Laser Displacement Sensor

Ultra-high precision sensor by integrated optical circuits

  • Leveraging silicon-based optoelectronic integration technology, the coherent detection optical path and reference optical path of MD series sensor are integrated within a single optical chip. Moreover, integrated optical packaging technology unites semiconductor lasers and detectors into a cohesive optical sensing module.
  • Employing frequency-modulated continuous-wave  (FMCW) technology for coherent reception, a distinctive modulation and demodulation method has been devised to enable high-precision distance measurement. By comparing the measurements to a carefully controlled reference optical path, long-range accuracy at the micrometer level is attainable.

Exceptional measurement stability

  • The MD series exclusively detects its own emitted light source, ensuring immunity to interference from external ambient light. It is capable of measuring objects with varying colors and materials, and even measurements of translucent or transparent objects remain unaffected.
  • Conventional triangulation measurement principles face challenges in measuring deep holes as they cannot receive reflected light. The MD series laser coaxial displacement sensor employs a coaxial measurement approach with combined light emission and reception, resolving issues related to un-measurable areas caused by blind spots.
